Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Coast
An aircraft soaring above a crowded California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and crashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Videos posted online capture the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were harmed. Details on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
