No Favorable Result - Electorate Across the US Express Concerns Over the Shutdown

American legislators from each political sides are assigning blame as numerous of workers face furlough and the funding gap drags on with no conclusion in sight.

Democrats have refused to back the Republican funding bill unless lapsing insurance support which they say many working families rely on are continued.

Republicans want Democrats to pass a short-term measure first and then they can negotiate the support payments.

Misty Dennis, 49, Republican

This Golden State voter is worried about the broad consequences of the closure on everyday people.

The Republicans have 53 supporters, they require 60 to approve the measure. Is it really that challenging to find common ground over a handful of votes so that the public aren't being hurt?

If this continues for a few more weeks, the truth is US citizens are being affected, American citizens are being influenced by this and someone should do something to be the grown-up in the room.

I believe sometimes politicians are so removed from ordinary citizens, the average individual going about their day, so they don't remember what the hardship is like and I feel they need to factor that in, especially if it's a large number of workers that are without income.

That's a lot of Americans without pay, that's a significant number of citizens unable to inject their income into the economic system. Citizens are just being negatively impacted.

Denise Demontagnac, Early Twenties, Democrat

This Maryland citizen understands this closure will bring suffering to many people, but she believes it is a important struggle.

I'm anxious because there is no favorable conclusion with the federal government being inactive.

I'm very concerned about what's going to occur to economically disadvantaged groups, students who depend on public aid and federal employees.

But this is a good fight for the Democratic Party to wage. Naturally jobs are going to be cut, programmes are going to go without funding, which is so disappointing but I feel that is blame that the Democrats would have on their hands.

I feel it's valuable to persist, this is sending a powerful signal to their supporters.

A Democratic Voter, Thirty-Six, Democratic Supporter

This California citizen is worried the Democrats do not have strategy in their closure strategy.

I am unsure if the top Democrat has a roadmap for an off-ramp to talks or how to lead the faction away from this.

I don't know if the Democratic Party have a effective communication to the citizens on what they're doing.

In terms of online communication, the Republicans clearly have the advantage. The messaging is not persuasive on what Democrats are attempting.

I'm currently at a juncture where I'm kind of anxious because government shutdowns hurt anyone.

I'm going to be okay, but for everyone else who needs the public services, who plans to tour a public land or museum, they're going to be impacted, if not currently, then in the near future.

And that is intolerable.

Jim Sullivan, 55, Republican

This Indiana citizen claims Democrats are acting strategically with ordinary citizens and their livelihood.

This is standard political maneuvering. It is a stopgap measure they are trying to approve, that the Democrats don't support.

Many are calling it a leadership-induced halt, it's not the fault of the Republicans, it's on the opposition, he's proceeding to maintain influence within his political faction - in the meanwhile, all are in the uncertainty.

I fail to observe that this is going to conclude.

The average Americans are caught in the middle, and Democrats are prepared to disregard them. They're hurting their reputation any advantages when they actually hold up matters like this.

Trey Stewart, Late Twenties, Democratic Supporter

This Florida resident says the Democratic strategy is a challenging but necessary one and one that touches his family member, who has been placed on leave because of the shutdown.

The Democratic strategy is a challenging one, but sadly it is a necessary one.

They have been unable to do much to halt or stop the current administration's policies.

I agree with their strategy, I support their rationale for doing it.

The current president is a bully and if you give into a aggressor he's going to expect additional concessions, that's how bullies work. So you have to stand up to a bully to make him understand you're not going to concede for without resistance.

The point when it goes too far is when the Democrats start losing the PR battle, if the narrative changes to faulting the left then it might be appropriate to reach a resolution.

Rom Solene, Sixty-Four, Republican

This Grand Canyon State resident is insulated by the shutdown so he is ok with the shutdown persisting, if that is what it takes for Republicans to succeed.

I would think after the period that the left have had, I would have anticipated that they would have supported the continuing resolution, at least temporarily.

I am all for what the Republicans are trying to do, I'm fully supportive of lowering public expenditure.

The Democrats have become so opposed of the current president, no matter what he suggests I feel they would seek reasons to oppose him.

I myself am not feeling the pressure that other citizens are, this doesn't directly impact.

What little we rely on the government - what it offers for us - the closure is not going to impact us {whatsoever|at all|in any
